I’ve come across a couple of sites in recent weeks that have featured making banners and bunting for your next festive occasion from your scrapbooking stash. And I thought “What a cool idea”.
Bonnie posted this article on the Snap and Scrap Blog giving instructions and a template for making this cute banner for her daughters room.
Unlike myself, Bonnie has a good relationship with her sewing machine so she made this using fabric scraps, and I thought at the time that this could easily be made using scrapbooking materials.
Then the other day I came across this post on Jess Gordon’s Scrapbook Ideas Blog. Jess has taken it to where I was thinking and created a nifty template to use with your Digital Scrapbooking backgrounds to easily make these banners on your computer, print them out and voila, instant festive decora
tion.
I thought with the holiday season almost on us it might be a good time to share this with you .
Have you ever tried making your own decorations out of scrapbooking supplies? I’d love to know what you’ve made and maybe a link to a picture on your blog if you have one. I think I might try this out this Christmas, how about you?

Great ideas to make Christmas banners!! That fabric one is beautiful too
!
Fortunately I have a friend who’s VERY good friends with her sewing machine – all I have to do is order
The only things I made with scrapbooking material are cards, I don’t have an example at hand (sent them all out) but will provide a link as soon as I make another one – next project: Christmas cards!
Thanks Jess. Yes people like Bonny should have their right hand permanently tied behind their back so the they don’t make people like me feel inadequate.
Antoinette, A friend who will do your sewing (and enjoy it) is like gold. I am also a card maker and thanks for the reminder. I need to start thinking about my Christmas cards.
