Product Reviews

These are products and services I have written full reviews of:

There are many tutorials around showing digital scrapbooking techniques … I’ve made some of them myself.

But none of them seem to address the needs of the absolute newbie: the person who isn’t comfortable with using graphics editing programs and who doesn’t know the terminology that has grown up around digital scrapbooking.

So I decided to do something about it.

I’ve created a course called Step by Step Digital Scrapbook which has a series of digital scrapbooking tutorials that will take you by the virtual hand and help you to go from beginner to expert digital scrapbooker.

And if you’re already a digital scrapbooker you can choose from the tutorials in the Intermediate or Advanced sections to select ones that offer you some techniques that you may not already know.

pse6missingmanual2.jpgAlthough Photoshop Elements is my preferred software for digital scrapbooking because of its flexibility, I realise that there is a learning curve involved. Of course you can ease that learning curve with my Step by Step Digital Scrapbooking Tutorials (see above).

But if you are looking for more instant scrapbooking gratification, or if you would prefer a lower cost product than Photoshop Elements to get started on it’s hard to beat My Memories Suite.

I’ve used and liked the product and as an entry level scrapbooking software I reckon it’s hard to beat. Plus if you read my review you can get a very tasty discount on an already inexpensive product.

photoshop elementsI’ve have quite a few emails asking me if Photoshop Elements is the best software to pick for digital scrapbooking.

Well first of all, let me say that I am a long time user of Photoshop Elements. So that is obviously going to influence my opinion.

And in my opinion, Photoshop Elements is the best choice for someone entering the world of digital scrapbooking.

You can read why in my review here.

Scrapbook MAX! Digital Scrapbooking Software
Scrapbook Max is another entry level digital scrapbooking software program that allows scrapbookers to easily and quickly start making their first digital scrapbooking layouts and albums with the minimum of learning curves. A short, easy to follow video gets you started quickly and in minutes you’ve created your first layout. Pretty exciting stuff for a first time digital scrapbooker.

I’ll be honest with you, as a devoted Photoshop Elements user I wasn’t expecting to be terribly impressed. I had watched the introductory demo video on the site and I thought Scrapbook Max looked like a pretty basic, template driven scrapbooking tool that wouldn’t allow for much creativity. Well as I started to get into the program I was very pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong.
